Collective Consciousness Theatre is a 501.c.3 non profit organization based in New Haven, CT. Founded in 2001, CCT is a multicultural theatre company dedicated to social change through the art of live theatre. With six touring productions, workshops, teacher in service and study guides, we serve an audience of more than 10,000 a year performing in schools, youth facilities, prisons, andcommunities across the country.
Our current offering of theatrical works are: Little Brother (highlighting issues of racism and social justice), No Lie: A Hip Hop Bus Trip (diversity in America), Shakespeare: The Remix (merging Hip Hop and Shakespeare), Struggle for Freedom (Civil Rights Freedom Fighters throughout U.S. History), and Harriet Tubman: The Story of the Underground Railroad (the heroine’s journey to free slaves).
Each of these shows can be booked separately or accompanied with workshops for students and/or adults.
Shows can be booked in several combinations:
1 performance (each show features an audience post show discussion with the artists)
1 performance and 1 workshop (45 min.-1 hr. sessions, with up to 25 participants)
2 performances
2 performances and 1 workshop
